"We love the Print Your Own Gift Certificate program!
Because we live in the “internet age” and people are accustomed to getting what they want “right now”, our decision to implement the PYOGC program was based primarily on making our customers happier.
Of course there was a financial consideration to customize it for us, but we trusted we would make that up in increased gift certificate sales. We launched in May, anticipating a bit of interest for the Mother’s Day rush. We expected an increase in sales, but had not expected making back our investment in one month! Our sales were 10% over last year, 100% attributed to our PYOGC program.
But the bonus savings was in our staff’s time to process manual gift cards, the savings in the card stock and mailers, and the savings of fees to process a third party gift card. Currently we are under our forecasted budget for those expenses by 20%.
